Intro

We will learn how to use certificate from digicert to send s/mime email for a shared mailbox.

Get Certificate from DigiCert

You need subject name and email to be that mailbox and you should be good to go.

Use Certificate in Outlook

Use below option to import cert in Outlook to use that in s/mime.

  • Launch Outlook
  • Navigate to File > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings
  • Email Security > Click on “Import/Export”
  • Click on “Import existing Digital ID from a file”, Click Browse.
  • Type password and click next and allows all prompts.

Create a new Email.

Navigate to File > properties > Click on Security Settings, Click on Change Settings then Choose the cert.

If it worked, you will see the cert selected as shown below:

Now, you are ready to send your email, Initially send this to yourself to find it worked.
